Brethren:
I cannot begin to tell you where the time has gone.
This year has really gone by quickly and the Lodge has done
so much this year. The BBQ fundfraiser in May was successful
and another one is being planned for the fall. The Lodge has
had the bathrooms renovated with new paint and porcelain appliances.
The grounds have had new boxwoods planted and the sign repaired
and lighted again. The Senior Warden is planning a Lodge cleanup
day soon in order to get the Lodge prepared for a Ladies and Awards
Night coming up in the fall as well. This you will not want to miss!
I have received a petition for degrees in Shandon Lodge to
be read out in August! This is very good news for the Lodge since
membership in many Lodges in this Grand Jurisdiction is on the decline.
If all goes well, we should be conferring an E.A. in September, the
first E.A. for this year. The last degree was conferred back in January
when Bro. Wayne WHitworth was raised to the Sublime Degree of a
Master Mason. Let us prepare ourselves for some good degree work that
Shandon Lodge is known for.
Finally, Shandon Lodge is on the upswing. Brethren, if you
haven't been to the Lodge in a while, please come and visit soon.
I believe you will find many positive changes to the Lodge appearance
as well as the fellowship enjoyed at our meetings. We still eat before
we meet, but we could use a few more brothers to share in this friendly
and social intercourse. We are always remembering our sick and
distressed brethren and their familes. Not a meeting goes by that we
do not stop and mention those who need our thoughts and prayers, as
well as encouragement and acknowledgement for good deeds. Please support
your Lodge on every occasion, you may need support from your Lodge one day.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Clark A. Frady, Worshipful Master, P.M.
